✨ I can’t even decide what I want. Am I just lazy?

Hey Reader,

Ah yes, a brand new year...ripe for reinvention, but often coated in pressure to be “ready” and “clear” when most of us feel more like caterpillars in mid-melt.

A client messaged me last week in full-blown January panic.

"I should’ve done my vision board by now. Everyone's already launching things and talking about their big plans. I can’t even decide what I want. Am I just lazy?"

When we got on a call, she was surrounded by a half-used planner, a pile of unopened business books, and a to-do lis (aka pile of post-its) that made her stomach turn.

She confessed she’d spent the week doing things like reorganizing her spice rack and questioning whether her entire business direction even made sense anymore.

She thought she was spiraling. But I saw something else.

The Messy → Magical Shift

I said to her, "What if you’re not at the starting line or the finish line, but in the in-between?"

That sacred, slippery place where one version of you is dissolving and the next hasn’t quite arrived?

She exhaled. You could feel her whole body unclench. That one sentence gave her permission to just be where she was.

And maybe you need that too.

You're not behind. You're in a new phase of becoming. And news flash my friend, you're going to become again, and again, and again. The coach I am today is three versions later than the one who showed up at the start of last year. So give yourself grace as you shift.

So yeah no, this isn’t the part they celebrate on Instagram. But it’s the part that matters most. Because just like winter roots what spring will bloom, as we know, this pause that might be tugging at you, has a purpose. Society has taught us otherwise, we have to un-do that programming.

✨ 3 In-Between Invitations

  1. Rest as preparation, not avoidance. Your nervous system deserves a seat at the table. What if the stillness is fertilizing your next move? What if your exhaustion isn’t a flaw, but a flag to slow down and re-source?
  2. Tune into what feels good, not just what looks good. If goal-setting feels off, try joy-chasing instead. What lights you up when no one’s watching? What would you do even if it didn’t make sense on paper? Get some crayons, get playful with it!
  3. Let your desires reintroduce themselves. You don’t have to force clarity. Let it court you slowly. What whispers have you been ignoring because they didn’t seem "strategic enough?" Those quiet whispers are rooted in your Truth.

A Spark of Inspiration:

"Be patient with the parts of you still stretching into light."

Clarity doesn’t always come before action, I mean, it rarely does. Frequently it arrives because of it. Allow yourself to move gently. One small step a day. There is no race.

Hey Reader, I was sitting in front of my laptop, doing that thing where you open your inbox but don't really look at it. There were names in there–past connections stashed into folders, people I admire, folks who had reached out before, potential collaborators. All I had to do was craft a note. Hit reply. Say hello. Reconnect. But my fingers hovered, paralyzed. The familiar little noggin' gremlins started chattering: "What if you come off pushy?" "Is this just a veiled sales attempt?" "They...

Hey Reader, The other day, a brilliant new friend came to me via the DMs of Instagramland, and after chatting on our eerily similar healing paths post-divorce, she asked if she could shoot an idea past me for her first coaching offer. She messaged, It feels too easy, though. Like… anyone could do this. She'd mapped out a gentle, grounded path for helping women answer the question about their marriage: Should I stay or should I go? – and reconnect with their inner spark. It was elegant....

Hey Reader, It was December 31st and I was staring at a blank Google Doc titled “2026 Vision." I had lit the candle. I had made the coffee. I had opened the beautiful notion template an entrepreneurial friend had sent me with prompts like “What are your top 3 business goals?” and “Where do you want to be in 12 months?” And still–nada. I had waiting until the very last minute. It wasn’t burnout. It wasn’t laziness. It was something quieter when I paused and really listened: resistance. The...
