What if you stopped proving and started receiving?

Hey Reader,

My client was mid-launch, doing all the “right” things–sharing vulnerably, showing up with heart, crafting content that felt magnetic and true. We'd mapped out the offer together with intention. The systems were working. Her energy? Mostly high.

And still… nothing.

No new sign-ups. No curious DMs.
Not even an abandoned cart whisper on the sales page.

My brain scrambled to problem-solve. Maybe the messaging needed a tweak? Maybe the price point was off? Maybe she should add a bonus, extend the early bird, post more testimonials?

The spiral was familiar. The urge to fix… deeply ingrained.

But beneath the scramble, a quieter truth started humming in my heart.

It wasn’t the strategy that needed adjusting.
It was her capacity to receive.

Not just conceptually.
Energetically. Embodied.

We’d built the bridge–but we hadn’t unclenched our grip long enough to let anything walk across it.

The Messy → Magical Shift

Here’s what I noticed: She was asking, but she wasn’t truly allowing.

Asking the universe. Asking her audience. Asking with her words and effort and content… but deep down, she didn’t yet feel worthy of the thing she was asking for.

Not unless she worked harder. Pushed more. Proved she deserved it.

Receiving had always been a reward for effort in her past lives–corporate roles, achievements, gold stars. We all know that drill.

She hadn’t yet learned to receive as an act of self-trust.
As a birthright. As a match to her presence–not her performance.

She sat in that realization for a while. Uncomfortable. Quiet. Tender.

And then she started practicing something radically different.

Instead of hustling to get more, she practiced holding what she’d already created. She stopped tweaking. She started trusting. She treated her offer as sacred, enough, already whole.

And something shifted.

Not in the algorithm.
Not in our funnel.
In her.

People began to trickle in. Gently. Authentically. Some who had been watching for months. Others who just found her.

But most importantly, she started to feel safe in the stillness.
Safe in the space before the results.
Safe to receive without having to earn it ten times over.

✨ 3 Receiving Practices That Shift Everything

  1. Feel it before you see it.
Before the results arrive, act as if your desires are already on the way. Embody the version of you who already has the clients, the ease, the abundance. What does they believe about themselves? How do they move through their day? Your nervous system learns safety through repetition, not immediate arrival.
  2. Check your deservingness dial.
When you feel blocked in business, trace the feeling back to its origin. Get curious. Ask yourself, is there a part of me that doesn't believe I deserve what I want unless I over-give to get it? Worthiness isn’t a finish line–it’s a practice. Notice where you’re holding your own receiving hostage behind more effort. Breathe compassion there.
  3. Let yourself be supported.
Receiving isn’t passive–it’s relational. It asks for openness, responsiveness, presence. Whether it’s a compliment, a payment, a yes from a dream client–let it land. Practice saying “thank you” without immediately reaching for reciprocity. Your capacity to receive support is directly linked to your capacity to scale with soul.

A Spark of Inspiration:

“You are not required to set yourself on fire to keep other people warm. You are not required to chase what’s meant to be received. Open your hands. The more you trust, the more you hold.” — (from the journal of becoming)

You don’t need to be more impressive.
You need to be more open.

Let your value be felt, not forced.
Let the “yes” meet you in your worthiness–not your worry.

💬 Your Turn
What are you already worthy of receiving–without doing a single thing more?

I'd loooooove to hear. Hit reply and tell me!

To more clarity, confidence, and ease–one fabulous messy step at a time.

Grateful for you.

Thank you for being here!

I want you to know I'm proud of you for continuing to learn, and I believe you have what it takes to make your entrepreneurial dreams a reality.

If this resonated, share it with a friend who might find it helpful.

Hey Reader, A few weeks ago, I sat at my desk, staring down a blinking cursor like it was a battlefield. I had plenty to say, supposedly–I mean... I had just spent the last three years creating and finally finishing my debut book. (Coming out September 30th, eek! More on that soon). But the point is, I help people write for a living! I AM now a writer! (Okay, sorry one more little eek. I have dreamed of saying that for quite some time...) But! In that moment, every idea I reached for...

Hey Reader, I almost didn’t hit publish. The post was incredibly raw. Not polished, not packaged. Just a real-time window into the ache I was moving through – the fear of being seen, the voice in my head that still whispered, Who do you think you are? It wasn’t strategic. It didn’t tie into a launch. It wasn’t teaching anything. It was just… me. Naming my doubt. Naming my hope. Acknowledging the awkwardness of the messy middle. But the gentle nudge within my heart, that gentle tug said: share...

Hey Reader, You sit down to write a post, staring at the blinking cursor, and think, “If I have to make one more piece of content today, I might just… (insert expletive) not.” Marketing can feel like a full-time job on top of building your actual business. And the longer you procrastinate, the more guilty you feel about not showing up online. Anyone else? Ohhhh, just me, right. When new entrepreneurs come to me, to launch their first business I would say most everyone's biggest struggle?...
